Northwest Youth Symphony Association promotes personal growth and self-esteem while teaching the values of teamwork and excellence, through preparation and performance of musical masterpieces.
Youth Musicians of varying skill levels from around Northwest Washington come together to present masterpieces of music. We truly enjoy presenting the works of our string, winds, brass and percussion members.
Our Board of Directors is committed to the enrichment and advancement of skilled young musicians. We encourage musicians of all ages from elementary school through age 24, from any county in the Northwest. Currently we serve students from up to 16 different school districts depending on the season.
Four geographically distanced branches — Fidalgo Youth Symphony, (FYS) Mount Baker Youth Symphony, (MBYS), Whidbey Island Youth Symphony (WIYS) and Salish Youth Symphony (SYS) function under the non-profit umbrella organization of Northwest Youth Symphony Association (NYSA), which is a registered 501(c)3.
