Emily Varley is a conductor, composer, trumpet player, pianist, songwriter, and vocalist from Tallahassee, FL. She began studying music at the age of five and has a degree in instrumental music education from the nationally renowned Florida State University College of Music. She has composed for short film, orchestra, band, and small ensemble groups. Her film scores have all received awards on the festival circuit.
Her passion for teaching music is led foremost by the desire for everyone to experience the emotional and personal power it wields. She has taught both high school band and orchestra. She has privately taught piano, brass, and voice.
Emily herself has been tutored by prestigious musicians such as the head of the orchestral conducting program at Florida State University and a former trumpet player with the Cleveland Orchestra under George Szell, with whom she studied for two years and six years respectively.
